Description

The Mammut Nordwand Alpine Belay is an innovative and robust belay device, usable as a regular or alpine belay device.
A safety device for use in alpine terrain, the Nordwand Alpine Belay allows you to secure a lead climber whilst also allowing one or two second climbers to be independently belayed in an auto-locking mode from the belay station. The optimised geometry also allows comfortable belaying as well as reliable blocking in the event of a fall by the second climber, the blocking action can be released again using a webbing sling and the large eyelet on the device.
With V-shaped grooves and rear rope-bearing surfaces made of abrasion-resistant steel to prevent wear. The steel insert also prevents the belay device from overheating. The housing is made from lightweight aluminium, so that the total weight of the device amounts to just 80 grams. Suitable for double, half and single ropes ranging from 7.5 to 10.5 mm.
