The new SmartEVO compound uses a blend of three different polymers, each of which contributes its own specific property while guaranteeing a perfect balance of the opposing properties:the goal for every rubber engineer.
To finalise this project, Pirelli drew on its extraordinary experience gained in over 100 years of motorsport and the vast know-how of cycling.
Our in-depth knowledge and chemical expertise have enabled Pirelli´s material engineers and chemists to use this ternary polymer compound in such an advanced way as to ensure the ‘intelligent´ behaviour that is characteristic of the outstanding properties of the SmartEVO compound.

The thinner rubber layer enables better handling, while the aramid fibres distributed throughout the compound provide the necessary mechanical strength.´.
High performance carcass with an additional layer of high cut resistant fabric under the tread to provide excellent puncture protection in a wide range of conditions.

Sizes 28-622 and above are compatible with hookless rims subject to ETRTO 5bar/73psi max pressure limit. .
