For optimal results, it is important to have a good iron to get an efficient melting of the wax.
1. Set your wax iron to the recommended temperature of 140°C (284°F).
2. Move the iron across the ski base at a steady pace. The speed of the iron should be approx. 8-10 seconds on a skating or alpine ski. This ensures the wax melts efficiently into the base structure.
3. For enhanced durability, the wax can be re-heated after cooling to room temperature . This second pass helps the wax penetrate deeper, resulting in a tougher and longer-lasting glide.
4. After the final cooling, scrape off the excess wax with a sharp, high-quality plastic scraper, and finish by brushing from tip to tail with a bronze and then a nylon brush to reveal the structure and polish the base.
